Profitable Business

The latest court case on NKF has re-ignite some interest to the Charity scene in Singapore. Uncle Casius cannot be help to think that Charity is indeed on of most profitable "business" (if you agreed with Mr Dulai opion).

Firstly, Charity has not tangible product to sell. You are selling the misfortune of others and expliot on public sympathy. As a intangible product, you do not have handle issues like product cost, inventory control, providing warranty etc.

Secondly, Charity has low start up cost. You just need to register with the relevent authority and lock on to a target that you can exploit. Well, since the world is full of misfortune or all kind of illness, its not too difficult to just pick one.

Thirdly, lower cost of publicity. Under the banner of "Charity", most media will be willing to settle of lower fee. if you are innovative enough, you just need to call up the one of the Chinese night paper to tip them about one of the sad stories you have in your file. The indirect way of publicity is always a more effective way compare to buying advertisment space.

As can be seen, Charity is just one of the thing that met the above criteria, Uncle Casius do not want to elaborate further as it could be quite controversial... but this should be quite obvious!

Home Alone with Amanda

Today, the wife need to go out in the afternoon so it will only be Amanda and me at home. And I will have to bring Amanda to meet up with the wife in the evening. Since this is not something Uncle Casius is good in, I created a checklist and timetable:
1. Pat Amanda to sleep (hee.. so that I get some personal time, like posting the blog)
2. Get ready the milk so that I am always ready to feed Amanda when she wants it.
3. Choose what she is going to wear later in the evening
4. Pack Amanda's belongings for tonight outing.
a. Toys
b. Spare set of shirts
c. Diapers, anti rashes cream, wet-paper wipe, plastic sheet
d. Small Towels
e. Blanket
f. Medication for insert bite
g. Plaster to keep insert away
5. Changed her diaper before leaving the house
6. Apply medicine on her insert bites
7. Call for a cab to meet the wife

Phew* This remind me of my days of reservists when we need to come up with a SOP and pack the full battle order for field excercise! Anyway today outting should be an interesting one, the wife is going to treat Uncle a Japanese meal that she rated as one of the best in Singapore at Chime, following by a walk along the riverside.. guess this is a new experience for Amanda!

I am keeping my fingers cross, I hope the sky will continue to be clear as it had been raining for the last 2 days!
